Tuesday, June 12, Week 11 by 6pm.
Title the Final Posting: FINAL COMMENTS
Method
Each team member must communicate with their team members by posting discussions on this blog and deciding answers to each of the questions presented below.
Grading
This assignment is worth 20% of your final grade.
During Week 8 /May23-29 you must make an initial posting/comment to introduce yourself to your team, discussing your strengths and weaknesses as well as what you hope to bring to the team.
You must also post an additional three separate comments for this week. This would make a total of at least 4 comments during Week 8 dates 23-29 May.These posted comments will count as 8%/ points toward your 20% “Blog participation” grade.(Each posting = 2%/points)
In the course of the blog discussion, your team should decide who will be the ”writer” who will post the final answers to the questions listed in the blog challenge that the team agreed upon,as well as your team should also discuss how they will present the solutions/answers in a class presentation during Week 11 .While your team can choose to present the solutions in whatever way it decides,( i.e. create a PowerPoint, or simply an oral presentation) your final presentation should have all members of the team participating in providing the “ solution presentation” to the class. Your team can be as creative as you decide.
Comments
For your post/comments to count and to obtain credit points, your comments must be substantial and address the dilemma/challenge. A substantial posting will consist of 2-3 sentences with new ideas or replies and responses to another team member’s post. Simple social discussions, such as “Hi, how are you?” or unsubstantiated agreements such as “I like that idea” will not count as posts to earn your participation points.
During Week 9/May 30-05 June You must post at least three separate comments during this week for a total of 6 points. Each post/comment is worth 2 points toward your 20% “Blog participation “grade.
Week 10/June 6-12 You must post at least three separate comments during this week for a total of 6 points. Each post/comment is worth 2 points toward your 20% “Blog participation “grade.

Oh my gosh this is soo awesome
ReplyDeleteFinally I was able to get here.
ReplyDeleteI have a terrific idea, build shower with vent holes on the walls, where after a person turns off the water, warm air is blown into the closed shower to dry off without having to use towels.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. Watch out for those upward spray jets though. :)
DeleteHow about instead of vent holes, use air curtains that sweep from top to bottom. Just 2. One in front, another for the back. Ideally you'd be dry in one sweep.
I totally haven't completely figured out what I want to do yet. The fact that it doesn't have to be real is making it a bit more challenging since I want to pick something cool. No one else is having this problem huh?
ReplyDeleteHello Team. I'm hoping I can bring to the table some initial ideas that we can bounce around and develop into something solid for our presentation in week 11. I feel I have good ideas but sometimes they come too quickly and I find myself flip flopping around instead of chasing down the one good one. So maybe you guys can help me with that.
ReplyDeleteMy idea is a PDA built into glasses, possibly contact lenses in the future. You will be able do everything you can do with a smartphone except this will be hands free. Also, the glasses will have a super imposed heads up display that provides the user with info, such as looking at a cab from a distance and know if it's occupied or looking at a person and getting their information. It is capable of projecting an image on any surface, say the users hand, in which the user can type using a projected keyboard.
ReplyDeleteMichael, i like your idea, we can use implants in the back of the ear that when the glasses are put on the person can access full functionality and the glasses can even have a night vision function for driving in all types of lighting conditions, and infra-red capabilities for driving in bad weather.
ReplyDeleteI was also thinking of creating a helmet the can be selected to different men's haircut styles, and connect it to vacuum source and gives you the perfect hairstyle every time. Years back they had a device call a flowbe, but it was handheld and you used it like a electric hair trimmer and it had different plastic replaceable spacers for closeness, but very time consubming, my helmet would do it in no time, and no mess.
ReplyDeleteOkay so, this idea is like a helmet hair trimmer? That would be a really cool idea since going to barber shops or trying to do it yourself is rather time consuming and this would save some money too.
DeleteHaha. I remember the flowbe. I think it scalped some people though.
DeleteHi Team, greatest trend! Can't wait to have the blow drying shower installed!
ReplyDeleteI am really interested in the PDA but not sure how it works!
Keep up with the creativity! very entertaining!
Keep on blogging!
Okay so one of my ideas would be a pod that a induces sleep and allows the user to enter a "world" it's essentially taking virtual reality to a new level. It would allow a player to be able to enter the game as themselves and fully experience the game world inside of their own head as if it were real.
ReplyDeleteThat that's a good one. So basically it induces lucid dreaming. Could one learn kung fu?
DeleteIn essence, that would sort of be the case. That wouldn't be the main purpose but if implemented in such a way I'm sure learning kung fu could be possible but it wouldn't rule out the need for actual physical training.
DeleteTravis is that like a living dream? But what happens if you die, in the virtual world?
ReplyDeleteTravis you just gave me another idea, we hook up your virtual world to a house battery, and convert brain electric energy to charge batteries that operate the house electricity during the day. Imagine the savings of our natural resources.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a good idea but like how much energy would be needed to charge the battery? Also the question of how would this affect the person would come up as well and yea essentially it would be a virtual world and somewhat like a dream at the same time.
DeleteHi team. I'm liking the ideas that we came up with so far. They sound like catchy ideas that would pick up quick
ReplyDeleteI have a idea for a hologram watch that can do anything that you can do on a ipad or tablet. This hologram watch has a rechargeable battery that gets solar charge.
ReplyDeleteGonzalo that is a cool idea for a haircut machine helmet. it would be good if it could give you a preview of your haircut before start to cut and change some things up
ReplyDeleteThe haircut helmet would make it for bald heads to get a clean around even cut without missing a spot or area. Hopefully it can cut within 2-3 minutes without cutting someone up and over heating not burning your head or hair
ReplyDeleteHi Im Rob Trematore I have an idea for a glass that always stays cold or hot using a usb plug or a battery source. I would have a built in fan to cool or a copper wire coil to heat,it would be very simple to use and cheap to make. Cars now a days have usb ports in case your run out of power, or if you in the country camping you can use the battery pack.
ReplyDeleteHeat is the easy part. Cool is the hard part. A built in fan will only cool the cup to whatever temperature the atmosphere is at. Maybe something that hooks in the vehicles AC system for the cold part?
DeleteD, I like the idea for the holographic watch that would make things amazing, you wouldn't have to have a need for a screen it would just be the holographic and voice command making it lighter and more sufficient great idea!
ReplyDeleteTravis that is a crazy idea that would be great i would love to do that and really experience in depth games without the game having potential dangers, or would they!?!?
ReplyDeleteMichael i actually have seen the virtual keyboard the is projected on any surface that isn't a glass like surface that is because if there is a reflection it wont recognize where the surface is a matte like finish but very cool technologies
ReplyDeleteI saw that too. It's so hard to come up with an all original idea. I find myself trying to put together already existing technologies in a package with a twist.
DeleteTravis they have a lucid dream mask looks crazy check it out looks crazy http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1047510073/remee-the-rem-enhancing-lucid-dreaming-mask/
ReplyDeleteWow! This is pretty interesting, I sort of want one now but to answer your question about the dangers in game, which ties into Gonzalo's earlier question, The danger is there yes but nothing major. It would need some kind of indicator that your being hurt in-game like a modern controller vibrating when your hit. The concept would be the same but of course it wouldn't be able to produce anything lethal to the user and dying in game would simply bring up a list of options for the user to perform.
DeleteHello everyone, it's me: Kate... It seems that I'm kind of late to start posting on the Blog but I was sick last week and I just knew today about all of this challenge... So I've been reading some of your ideas and they look interesting. I'm thinking right now about something really cool and a total "money machine" I hope I come up with something very soon... I'll be back.
ReplyDeleteExcuse me any spelling mistake.
I like the idea of the glass that Rob was writing about... I always want to take cold beverages in my care but they turn hot easily.. I would buy it!
ReplyDeleteHi team! I've been thinking about this idea! It combines fashion with music industry: Interactive music videos where a "Shop this look" button will appear during the video and people will be able to shop the actual garments that the artists are wearing in the music video!!
ReplyDeleteOk, to continue with my "Interactive music video" idea I'll say that it could be such a great marketing idea!! You know why? Because most of the time artists are dressed by all this cool and creative brands so they appear with such awesome looks on their music music videos but the person who is watching the video doesn't have any idea of where did he get what he is wearing!! And for us, as forming designer this can be a great opportunity to work with some musician friends that will be more than happy to cooperate with us on the next money machine method!
ReplyDeletePlease excuse any spelling error.
That's a great idea. With the smart TV technology that's coming out, your idea will be totally possible. I'm going to venture to say that it WILL happen and there are probably folks that are already developing this, so you should jump on it!
DeleteHey Katerine, I love that idea it’s a really simple idea that could be done the only place that I Know that is sort of like that is www.thefancy.com it sort of is the same concept ish, but its not just clothes minus the music videos. I really like it though.
ReplyDeleteI think I need to come up with another idea, looks like I might have been beaten to the punch http://stores.nextag.com/store/4788724/product/1108201337/USB-Rechargeable-Heated-Automatic , so let me think about another idea.
ReplyDeleteOk here is my new idea, the idea is for a pill. Tell me you guys wouldn’t use this, ok so your home about to go into the pool or your at the beach. Wait!! You need sunscreen others you will burn and it will kill when you get red and it will suck later that night. Ok so you take this pill that is a gel cap, in the gel cap is SPF concentrate and after 5 minutes you can sweat out the SPF though your sweat glands and there you go. Its water proof and lasts up to 7 hours.
ReplyDeleteSounds good at first. But when I thought about it, it can be kinda gross. I imagine sweating an oily substance that smells like sweat and coppertone. Plus sunscreen in the nether regions might burn a little.
DeleteHi Team Greatest Trends!
ReplyDeleteQuite creative ! VERY INTERESTING! Keep on blogging!
Hi guys! I think Rob's idea would be very difficult to develop because it involves a lot of chemical testing and other kind of process needed when trying to make medicines.
ReplyDeletePlease excuse any spelling errors.
Cool idea, but its not viable because of the cost of creating and testing a pill of this kind on a living subject.
ReplyDeleteOk, now that we've fleshed out our ideas let's pick the top five as the deadline is fast approaching. We need to have a vote to make it easy.
ReplyDeleteHi Team, does anyone have any feedback regarding the hologram watch idea? Should we tank it so we can reach the top five asap?
ReplyDeleteHello! I agree with the fact of voting! Is anybody online?
ReplyDeleteDuveuil, I love the holographic watch, the only thing if you try to use it outside on a sunny day yuo may not be able to see clear enough for all the functions.
ReplyDeleteRob, i agree with Michael, heat is easy but keeping things cold would be the difficult part.
ReplyDeleteKate, I love the marketing and sales possibilities for repeat business. Imagine if you could post any interactive shopping button on any video or live program. We would have to patent the technology and make billions. Any comercial for food from restaurants in your area, hit the button and get it delivered to your door.
ReplyDeleteI love this one too. It seems like the logical progression for Television. You would need to be logged in to some sort of account when you're watching TV though so when you order the system will know who you are.
DeleteRobert, I don't agree with Michael, I think we could put frangrance in the mix that would leave us with a nice coconut, or any other nice scent, and it doesn't need additional oil because the skin is oily enough, we just need to control the scent. When I was in the service we used vitamin B complex to keep the mosquitoes away and that didn't have a scent for human, but when you took one daily it really did keep the bugs away.
ReplyDeleteWe definitely should wrap this up. I think the holo-watch and holo-glasses idea could work together. I was also thinking for the glasses, that the lenses could get darker and lighter according to a current.
ReplyDeleteSo far we have:
ReplyDelete1. Holo-glasses
2. Holo-watch.
3. SPF Pill
4. Haircut Helmet
5. Interactive Music\Shopping TV
Did I miss anything?
You missed the virtual game world pod Michael but then again that would make it 6 things. Are we allowed to go over 5?
ReplyDeleteIm not sure i dont see why not, i dont think she will remove points.
DeleteTravis no we need only 5. We could drop the helmet and add the sleep dream pod. I'll write up into a powerpoint and send it if you guys want?
ReplyDeleteWe're going with this then?
DeleteThat sounds great thank you, your a great leader!!
DeleteOkay that's fine with me, who's doing the final comment by the way?
ReplyDeleteThe holo watch has a sensor like most new device to measure the ambient light and adjust to your environment lighting. It will dim or brighen to make the image be seen with ease.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy with all five of our picks but when we talked in class about each product. I'm not sure if we brainstorm on the weaknesses for the haircut helmet and came up some solutions for it
ReplyDeleteI guess we have everything taking care of for tomorrow
ReplyDeleteThats it then. We can iron out the small stuff in class right before.
DeleteI agree we can take care of all the small stuff in class
DeleteLate to the party after looking at all the posts i like the that were choosing
ReplyDelete1. Holo-glasses
2. Holo-watch.
3. SPF Pill
4. Haircut Helmet
5. Interactive Music\Shopping TV
Hello guys! I think we are all set... Is there anything else I should contribute to this challenge? Let me know if there is.
ReplyDeleteFor the most part I think we have very cool ideas!
Im still not sure about Rob's pill but let's do this!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd the haircut helmet sound funny to me but its a great idea!!
I had fun working with you this quarter.. Hope to see you soon... Is nila printing our final paper?
